We’re a family-owned diesel and semi-truck shop running mobile service and full in-shop repair across the I-80 and I-55 corridor. One call covers the whole rig: we come to you on the road, and when a job needs the bay, we get it to the shop and finish it there.

Our founder, John Griffin, came up turning wrenches as a diesel tech before he managed commercial fleets. He’s seen how the industry works — shops that sell labor instead of solving problems, padded estimates, parts swapped on a guess. J&A was built to do the opposite. We diagnose to the root, quote you straight, and stand behind the work.

Roadside Assistance

Mobile breakdown help, day or night. Air brakes, electrical, cooling, tires, jump-starts, fuel, and quick fixes that get you rolling where you sit.

Diesel & Engine Repair

Diagnostics, repairs, rebuilds, and full engine replacements. Caterpillar Level 2 certified techs.

Air Brake Repair

Chambers, valves, lines, slack adjusters, and frozen brakes in winter. Bendix trained.

Electrical & Alternator

No-starts, dead batteries, charging faults, wiring, and grounds, traced to the actual problem.

Cooling, Radiator & A/C

Overheating, radiators, water pumps, fans, and truck A/C that quits on a hot run.

Transmission Repair

Slipping, stuck-in-gear, and grinding gearboxes. Eaton and Allison trained.

HOW WE WORK

We confirm the problem before we touch a part. If we can’t recreate the issue, we keep digging — we don’t replace components on a hunch and hand you the bill. When we find it, we tell you what it’ll take, what it’ll cost, and whether it’s even worth doing. Plenty of times the honest answer has saved a customer thousands over what another shop quoted.

WHEN IT NEEDS THE SHOP

We don’t run tow trucks, but we work with a network of tow companies and get the best rates. So when a rig can’t roll, we line up the tow and handle the repair once it’s in — one call covers both.

PRICING YOU CAN SEE COMING

You’ll hear our hourly rate, our minimum, and any surcharges — fuel, shop supplies — before we start. Mobile road service is billed port to port: from when we leave the shop to when we return, the industry standard for service calls. The price only changes if the job changes. Stranded at 2 a.m. doesn’t cost you extra — overcharging a customer in dire need is an experience you’ll never have with J&A.
